Dysart Dynamo (Westerner) Wins The Bumper At Punchestown

Exciting Son Of Westerner Extends Unbeaten Record

Debut winner Dysart Dynamo (5g Westerner - Dysart Dancer, by Accordion) proved himself an exciting prospect when racing clear to win Thursday’s bumper at the Punchestown Festival.

Trained by Willie Mullins for owner/breeder Eleanor Manning, the bay scored by eight and a half lengths last month and was sent off the even-money favourite to follow up under Patrick Mullins. Taking a keen hold behind the leaders, the son of Westerner made headway from four furlongs out and led on the turn for home. Shaken up approaching the final furlong, he won by seven and a half lengths with ease.

Speaking after the race, the delighted winning trainer said, “He looks a really nice acquisition for the yard. I don't think I've seen a horse pull as hard as him and still finish a race in a long while. He looks a real exciting prospect.” The best is yet to come, Mullins added, “He's every inch a chaser to look at and he must have some engine.”
