Eye-Catching Breezers Lead Mendelssohn Offerings at Fasig Midlantic

The next stop on the juvenile sales schedule is this week’s Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-Year-Olds In Training Sale where Mendelssohn has 11 cataloged to sell.

Among those offered are three who breezed in :10.1 at last week’s Under Tack Sale with the first going through the ring 90 hips in when All Dreams Equine offers a filly out of Szolnok. Bred by Spendthrift Farm, the filly is the second foal out of the winning Elusive Quality mare Szolnok, who is a half-sister to multiple Grade I-placed Solomini and nine-time winner Baratti.

This filly’s second dam Surf Song is a half-sister to dual Grade I winner Midshipman and the Grade II-winning dam of multiple Grade I winner Frosted and Grade III winner Indulgent among others.

Hip 249 from SBM Training And Sales is another :10.1 breezer for his sire and a half-brother to the stakes winning Sing Dixie Sing.

In addition to her six wins, led by a stakes, Sing Dixie Sing is the dam of active stakes winner Quick Tempo. That gelding also placed third in a stakes at Churchill Downs during Kentucky Derby week. Out of Canaryinacage, the colt’s second dam is multiple graded stakes winner Megan’s Bluff and was a $160,000 Fasig-Tipton New-York Bred Sale buy by Christophe Clement.

Scanlon Training and Sales offers Hip 394, a :10.1 breezing filly out of Great Look.

Bred by Thoroughbred by Design, this filly is out of a full sister to the multiple graded stakes winner Winning Cause and a half-sister to the stakes-placed Ventry Bay. Her page also includes Grade I winners Emerging Talent, Summer Love, and Lindalevesolta in addition to Grade III winner Society Hostess.

Great Look visited another young Ashford stallion in Maximum Security last year.

Hip 169 is out of a Grade III-placed granddaughter of Canadian champion Hero’s Love, who is the dam of stakes winners Love Kiss and Love Sting. Four of her daughters have produced stakes winners, including this colt’s granddam, who has stakes winner Awesome Hero and Group I-placed Gatabakana in addition to this colt’s dam Zapparition.

Julie Davies is the consignor of Hip 181, a filly out of Adjust she bought for $80,000 from breeder Machmer Hall.

Adjust is the dam of a four-time winner from her only foal to race and is also a half-sister to the stakes winning Enforce.
