Famed A TDN Rising Star For Uncle Mo

Uncle Mo’s regally bred daughter Famed (2f Uncle Mo x Delightful Quality, by Elusive Quality) put on a show at Keeneland on Saturday to earn Thoroughbred Daily News Rising Star honors.

Making her second start, the Godolphin homebred broke swiftly in the seven furlong dirt race to duel for the lead early on. The filly showed her professionalism when the horse next to her bolted and lost her rider with Famed staying focused on the task at hand.

The race was well in hand in the closing stages as she coasted home by 7 ¾ lengths to get a pat by jockey Florent Geroux before they crossed the line.

Trained by Brad Cox, Famed is a half-sister to last year’s Champion 2-Year-Old Colt and this year’s Grade I Belmont Stakes winner Essential Quality.

The pair are out of the multiple stakes placed Delightful Quality, a half-sister to Champion 2-Year-Old Filly Folklore. Folklore has also created her own successful branch of the family as the granddam of Japan’s Triple Crown winner Contrail.

Another of Delightful Quality’s half-sisters is the stakes winner and Grade I fourth Divided Attention and a third half-sister producing two stakes performers.

Famed is the eighth TDN Rising Star for Uncle Mo, who consistently sees top racehorses on the track season after season.
