Theory Of Music (Fastnet Rock) Wins Her Maiden At Limerick

Fastnet Rock Filly Gains Smart Maiden Victory

There should be more to come from the well-bred Theory Of Music (3f Fastnet Rock - Beyond Compare, by Galileo), who got off the mark in Friday’s mile and a half maiden at Limerick.

Beaten just a half a length in a Curragh maiden earlier this month, the Jessica Harrington-trained bay raced towards the back of the field under Tom Madden and was asked to quicken with four furlongs left to race. Ridden after the two pole, she led inside the final furlong and ran on to score by a length and a half from Glinting (Galileo).

“Going forward she'll be a nice filly,” Madden later commented. “She is still learning plenty but I'd say she'll find for you again next year.”

Owned by Lord Lloyd Webber and Andrew Rosen, the daughter of Fastnet Rock was bought as a yearling for 290,000gns. Bred by Jim Bolger, she is a full-sister to multiple Stakes winner and Group 1 performer Turret Rocks (Fastnet Rock).
