First Foal for World Champion Crystal Ocean

2019 World Champion racehorse Crystal Ocean (Sea The Stars) sired his first foal at The Beeches Stud, where he stands, on 5th January when Indian Frontier had a quality colt.

Robert McCarthy said “Indian Frontier had a lovely, dark bay colt with good bone. He looks, and is marked, very like his dad so the mare will be going back to Crystal Ocean. It’s a great start to the new year to see him with such a good first foal.”

Indian Frontier comes from a family of top-class chasers such as Strong Promise, Defy Logic and Robinsfirth.

Crystal Ocean won 7 Group races when trained by Sir Michael Stoute including the Prince of Wales’s Stakes-Gr.1 at Royal Ascot where he beat 7-time Gr.1 winner Magical and ‘Arc’ winner Waldgeist.

Crystal Ocean’s outstanding first book of in-foal mares also includes the Grade 2 placed Moskovite who was bought by Robert McCarthy for €160,000 at Fairyhouse in December and she will also return to him this year.
