First foals for Mastercraftsman
Mastercraftsman sired his first foals on Saturday and both are full of quality according to their connections. Cover Look, a dual Gr.2 winner in South Africa, produced a smashing bay filly at Newsells Park Stud. The foal is a half-sister to Gr.3 Sagaro Stakes winner Shipmaster and was described by racing manager Gary Coffey as “a very neat individual with excellent limbs."
At Woodcote Stud Audacieuse had a fine bay colt. Audacieuse is a Gr.3 Prix de Flore winner by Rainbow Quest and a half-sister to 2010 Gr.3 Acomb Stakes winner Waiter’s Dream. Woodcote’s Barry Reilly couldn’t be happier with the new arrival and commented that “the foal is probably the nicest out of the mare, he is strong, correct and has plenty of bone.”
The best son of Danehill Dancer, Mastercraftsman is a 4-time Gr.1 winning European champion and hails from the same family as the USA champion sires Broad Brush and Capote. He stands for €17,500 in 2011 and last November mares in foal to him sold for up to €300,000.
