First Northern Hemisphere Winner for Pride of Dubai

Currently the leading Australian first season sire by earnings, Pride Of Dubai posted his first Northern Hemisphere winner overnight in the UK with a tenacious victory for Star of Emaraaty (2f Pride of Dubai x La Grande Elisa, by Ad Valorem).

The Kevin Ryan trained filly was second on debut in early June and then unplaced in the Group II Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot, but bounced back in this seven furlong maiden to win by a neck.

A dual Group I winning son of Street Cry from the female family of invincible Spirit and Kodiac, Pride Of Dubai shuttled to Ireland for two seasons and has over 100 two year-olds to run for him up there this year.

Star of Emaraaty is the second winner from La Grande Elisa, a half-sister by Ad Valorem to Group I winning sire Rip Van Winkle.

Pride Of Dubai has had a strong year in the sale-ring with four yearlings selling for $500,000 or more and his overall average price up markedly from 2019 indicating the high regard in which his progeny are held.

Pride Of Dubai stands this spring at a fee of $38,500.
