G1 Lockinge next for Fastnet’s Somehow

Progressive Fastnet Rock filly Somehow (4f Fastnet Rock-Alexandrova, by Sadler’s Wells) toyed with her opposition when running away with the G2 Dahlia Stakes at Newmarket on Sunday.

Somehow was sent off a warm favourite for the nine-furlong contest and powered three and a quarter lengths clear of the field under Ryan Moore. Her next stop is likely to be the G1 Lockinge Stakes at Newbury.

"We're delighted with her,” said trainer Aidan O’Brien. “We thought she was a very nice filly last year. She loves following pace and quickens very well. "She also likes fast ground, which is also a big help to her. This filly loves racing. She's very straightforward. We might have a look at the Lockinge or something like that." Moore added: "Her two runs this year have been excellent. I think she's shown herself to be a high-class filly and she's dealt with them very easily."
