G3 glory for Holy Roman Emperor
The ultra-consistent Pinturicchio (6g Holy Roman Emperor-Precious Pearl, by Peintre Celebre) claimed his third black-type success at Chantilly on Saturday.
The son of Holy Roman Emperor, bred by Dayton Investments, saw off 10 rivals to win the G3 Prix Bertrand Du Breuil Longines (Prix du Chemin de Fer du Nord) over a mile and trainer Elie Lellouche is hopeful of further Group-race success this season.
“We’ve been waiting for this and he is the most brave and courageous horse who always gives his best,” Lellouche told TDN. “His programme is straightforward, so we’ll probably wait for the G3 Prix Quincey [at Deauville on Aug. 31] and then go to the G2 Prix Daniel Wildenstein [at Longchamp on Oct. 4].”
