G3 Winner Racatan Joins Lucky’s Stakes Winner List

It was a new stakes winner for Lookin At Lucky on Friday when Racatan (2c Lookin At Lucky x Magic Para Todos, by Rock of Gilbraltar) won the Group III Clasico Cotejo de Potrillos in his third start.

Racatan broke a few lengths behind the rest of the field but used his rail draw to fly up behind the leaders quickly in the 6 ½ furlong race. Half-way around the turn he was even with the leaders and by the time he straightened up, had the lead.

A few horses were within striking distance of the keen colt and he had to dig in to keep the win. In the end, the race was decided in the stewards’ room with Racatan declared the winner in the end.

Trained by S. Inda M., Racatan is owned by Vaquita Sabrosa and was bred by Haras Don Alberto.

The colt is the first foal out of Rock of Gibraltar’s Group III winner Magia Para Todos, who is one of three winners for her own dam. The family also includes multiple Chilean champion Madame Victoire and Chile Champion 3-Year-Old Trotamondo.

Lookin At Lucky now has 66 worldwide stakes winners with that group led by 16 Grade I winners.
