Galileo 3yos dominate rankings
Galileo won his fifth sires’ championship in 2013 and he predictably made a big impression in the Longines World’s Best Racehorse Rankings, announced on Thursday.
Ruler Of The World (4c Galileo-Love Me True, by Kingmambo) was Champion Three-Year-Old over intermediate distances after a year that was headlined by a brilliant victory in the G1 Derby at Epsom in June.
Meanwhile, Intello (4c Galileo-Impressionnante, by Danehill) and Magician (4c Galileo-Absolutelyfabulous, by Mozart) are the joint-champion three-year-old colts in the longer distance category. Intello’s season’s included a victory in the G1 Prix du Jockey-Club while Magician, who stays in training in 2014, won the G1 Irish 2,000 Guineas and G1 Breeders’ Cup Turf.
Meanwhile, in a three-year-old division dominated by Coolmore sires, the G1 St Leger winner Leading Light (4c Montjeu-Dance Parade, by Gone West) - a son of the late Montjeu - was the top member of his generation over extended distances.
The World Champion three-year-old milers were Olympic Glory (4c Choisir-Acidanthera, by Alzao) and Toronado (4c High Chaparral-Wana Doo, by Grand Slam).
