Game Gleneagles Colt Records Back To Back Wins
Curran (2c Gleneagles - Tipitena, by Camelot) produced a game performance to record back-to-back wins at Pontefract on Monday.
A promising fourth on debut, Charlie Johnston’s charge won his second start in good style last month and was reunited with Joe Fanning on Monday. Racing over ten furlongs in the Novice Stakes, the chesnut tracked the leader for much of the way and improved to lead with three furlongs left to race. Shaken up on the turn for home, he was ridden entering the final furlong to deny the favourite Prepschool (Camelot), a previous winner, by a short head. The first three home finished 15 lengths clear of the rest of the field.
Owned by Mrs S Russell and AM Russell, Curran was bred by Gerrardstown House Stud. The son of Gleneagles is the first foal out of Group performer Tipitena (Camelot).
