State Of Bliss (Gleneagles) winning at Chester

Gleneagles Colt Makes All To Gain Maiden Win

The well-bred State Of Bliss (2c Gleneagles - Crystal Valkyrie, by Danehill) made all to win his second start at Chester on Friday.

Racing over seven and a half furlongs, the Mark Johnston-trained colt broke well under Joe Fanning and was shaken up two furlongs from home. Clear approaching the final furlong, he was ridden out to deny Dubai Honour (Pride Of Dubai) in the shadow of the post, as they drew three lengths clear of the third.

Owned by Barbara and Alick Richmond, State Of Bliss was bought by her trainer as a yearling for €80,000. Bred by COP Hanbury, the son of Gleneagles is closely related to dual Group winner Above Average (High Chaparral) and Group performer Granddukeoftuscany (Galileo). He provides an important update for his yearling brother by Churchill who sells at next month’s Tattersalls Book 2 Sale.
