Gleneagles Colt Storms Home On Debut
Troon (2c Gleneagles - Sacred Harp, by Oasis Dream) showed a good turn of foot to make a winning debut in Wednesday’s seven furlong novice stakes at Kempton.
Ridden patiently by Liam Keniry, the Eve Johnson Houghton-trained bay had plenty of ground to make up with two furlongs left to race. Switched left to challenge, he ran on strongly to take second a furlong from home and drew clear with the leader. Ridden out, he led close home and scored by three parts of a length, with another four lengths back to the third.
Owned by the Primera Partnership, Troon becomes the first winner bred by Norman Orminston out of Sacred Harp.
