Gleneagles Filly All Heart In Longchamp Group 1
Gleneagles’ career-best season reached new heights on Saturday when the lightly-raced Loving Dream (3f Gleneagles - Kissable, by Danehill Dancer) captured the Group 1 Prix de Royallieu at Longchamp.
The Group 2 Ribblesdale Stakes heroine stepped up to a mile and six furlongs on her first trip to France and was ridden to make all by Frankie Dettori. Quickening approaching the two furlong marker, she was soon headed by fellow British raider Believe In Love, but battled back to score by a short neck on the line.
The Lordship Stud homebred is trained by John and Thady Gosden, and the latter commented after the race, “We were, of course, a bit worried when Roger Varian's filly [Believe In Love] came with her challenge, but she is very tough and has lots of talent.”
Gleneagles has enjoyed a terrific season so far, with Loving Dream having become his seventh Group 2 winner when scoring at Royal Ascot. The progressive three-year-old has also provided some dream updates for her Camelot half-brother, who is catalogued in the upcoming Tattersalls Book 2 Yearling Sale.
