Holy Roman Emperor Filly Gains Second Stakes Success

Great Generation (3f Holy Roman Emperor – Adutchgirl, by Dutch Art) doubled her Stakes-winning tally in Sunday’s Group 3 Sceptre Fillies’ Stakes at Doncaster.

Racing towards the back of the field for much of the seven furlong contest, the Marco Botti-trained bay made headway approaching the final furlong and ran on strongly between horses to lead close home. The winning margin was a length, while the progressive Queen Of Mougins (Ten Sovereigns) was beaten just a nose for second.

“It went very smoothly for Great Generation today,” winning rider Marco Ghiani commented. “It was great to see her back winning. She tries really hard.”
