Ottilien (Holy Roman Emperor) Wins The Listed Prix Turenne at Saint-Cloud

Holy Roman Emperor Filly Raids Listed Prize

Ottilien (3f Holy Roman Emperor - Vezina, by Bering) led home a 1-2 for Coolmore sires in the Listed Prix Turenne at Saint-Cloud on Friday.

The David Menuisier-trained bay had won both her previous starts in France, beginning with an impressive maiden victory as a two-year-old, and made a winning seasonal return at Chantilly in April. Stepping up to a mile and a half on her latest start, she was ridden to make all by Olivier Peslier and began to quicken approaching the two furlong marker. Ridden a furlong later, she kept on strongly to deny Melo Melo (Gleneagles) by a neck.

Owned by Quantam Leap Racing and bred by Seven Hills Bloodstock, Ottilien is a full-sister to Group 1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud victor Morandi (Holy Roman Emperor).
