Dixies Girl (Soldier Of Fortune) Wins The Mares Maiden At Quakerstown

Homebred Soldier Of Fortune Mare Scores At Quakerstown

Dixies Girl (5m Soldier Of Fortune - Mushagak, by Oratorio) built on a promising debut to get off the mark at Quakerstown on Sunday.

The Goulding family’s homebred was in front when falling at the third last at Dromahane last month and was well-supported to make amends at the weekend. Racing prominently throughout under Ray Barron, she held a clear lead with two to jump and was ridden when challenged approaching the final fence. She produced a fine jump at the last and kept on well on the run-in to win by two and a half lengths from Miss Drussel (Flemensfirth).

The daughter of Soldier of Fortune is trained by Arthur Goulding, owned by Denise Goulding and was bred by Patrick Goulding.
