Impressive Maiden Hurdle Winner Continues Fine Run For Milan

The promising Scarface (5g Milan - Consider Her Lucky, by Silvano) made an impressive return to action when drawing clear in Monday's Novices’ Hurdle at Plumpton.

Runner-up on his first two starts over hurdles last season, the Joe Tizzard-trained bay was sent off favourite to go one better under Brendan Powell. Leading from the fourth flight, he was shaken up to go clear from the third last and kept on well to win by 16 lengths.

Owned by Taylor and O’Dwyer, Scarface was bred by Mrs Lisa Doran and becomes his dam’s second winner in as many days. His full-sister Mi Lucky Cailin (Milan) produced a smart debut performance to win the fillies’ bumper at Galway the previous day.
