Vancouver Paddock

Impressive Sydney Trial Winner for Vancouver

The official two year-old trials in Sydney on Monday at Randwick produced some interesting winners including blue-blooded filly Ticket to Ride (2f Vancouver x Abbey Road, by Street Cry), who was one of the first foals born for Golden Slipper winning sire Vancouver in 2017 and is now his first trial winner.

She hit the line hard to score a narrow, but impressive win in her 852 metre heat over another promising filly in Stellar Pauline, who is a full sister to Group I winner Secret Agenda.

Trained by Richard and Michael Freedman, Ticket to Ride is a homebred for Fairway Thoroughbreds, who also bred and sold her sire Vancouver.

Foaled and raised at Segenhoe, Ticket to Ride is from Abbey Road, a talented winning Street Cry daughter of Champion 3YO Filly Private Steer.

Also trialling for Vancouver was talented colt Postcode (2c Vancouver x Never Forget, by Westerner), who surged home to finish second beaten a length to Nitrous in the fastest heat for colts.

Bred stoutly on his dam’s side, the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained Postcode showed plenty of ability and has a pedigree to suggest scope far beyond speedy juvenile races.
