Improving Filly Continues Fine Run For Zoffany

Mashkoorah (2f Zoffany - Week End, by Selkirk) justified market support on her second start to win the Novice Stakes at Newcastle on Friday afternoon.

Racing over seven furlongs, the bay was positioned in midfield by Jack Mitchell and was pushed along to make headway from three furlongs out. Chasing the leaders from the two furlong pole, she was switched left and quickened to lead inside the final furlong, running on to win by a length and a quarter from Holy Endeavour (Holy Roman Emperor).

Trained by Roger Varian for M Almarzooqi, Mashkoorah was bought as a yearling for €80,000. The son of Castlehyde Stud sire Zoffany was bred by E Mulryan and is a half-sister to multiple Stakes winner Absolutely So.
