Improving Gleneagles Colt Scores at Lingfield

The improving Gordonstoun (2c Gleneagles - Elusive Girl, by Elusive City) gained a well-earned victory when scoring over seven furlongs at Lingfield on Wednesday evening.

Third on debut in June, the Paul and Oliver Cole-trained colt suffered a troubled passage last time out in a similar contest, but finished well to be beaten just two and a half lengths. Once again ridden by Luke Morris, the bay raced towards the back of the field and was switched left to challenge with two furlongs left to race. Making good headway to lead inside the final furlong, he ran on well to win by three parts of a length.

Owned by Mrs Lucy Cole, B Williams, FLM Ltd and C Vincent, Gordonstoun was bred by Corrin Stud and Sean O’Keeffe. From the second crop of Gleneagles, he is a half-brother to fellow two-year-old Msayyan (Camelot).
