Improving Son Of Camelot Gains Maiden Win

Merlin The Wizard (3g Camelot - Sweet Gentle Kiss, by Henrythenavigator) built on a promising debut over course and distance to win Wednesday’s seven furlong Novice Stakes at Kempton.

Harry and Roger Charlton’s charge kept on well into second at the track in December and ran well despite suffering interference next time out at Newmarket. Sent off favourite on his third start, the bay made all under Hollie Doyle and was pushed along to quicken approaching the final furlong. Ridden out, he led by a neck on the line, with another two lengths back to the third.

The promising son of Camelot is owned by breeder Imad Alsagar of Blue Diamond Stud Farm.
