In Form Churchill In Demand At Goffs Orby Sale

The progeny of Churchill were in high demand at the Goffs Orby Sale following a terrific season on the track, led by top-class three-year-old Vadeni (Churchill).

The Coolmore Stud sire was responsible for ten six-figure yearlings over the two days and generated an impressive average price of €101,292. Baroda Stud consigned Churchill’s highest-priced offering at €250,000; a filly out of Group 3 Jersey Stakes winner and Irish 1,000 Guineas runner-up Ishvana (Holy Roman Emperor). MV Magnier and MyRacehorse teamed up to secure the bay filly, who hails from the wonderful female family of Hellenic and Islington (Sadler’s Wells).

The Mangan family’s Conna Stud enjoyed a terrific result when selling their Churchill filly to Amanda Skiffington for €230,000. The filly’s full-brother Side Bar (Churchill) fetched €82,000 as a weanling and resold for $180,000 as a yearling, and is since a winner.

Glenvale Stud pinhooked Side Bar (Churchill) and once again reaped rewards with Churchill when selling a filly out of You’ll Be Mine to BBA Ireland for €215,000.

Filip Zwicky and York Stud stretched to €125,000 for a Churchill colt at last year’s foal sales and were rewarded at Goffs when selling to Sackville Donald for €200,000 via Coulonces Sales.
