Justify Registers Sunday Double With Prove Right

It was a huge day for undefeated Triple Crown winner Justify on Sunday when he registered his fourth winner just hours after getting his first stakes winner when Prove Right (2c Justify x Joe’sgoldenholiday, by Harlan’s Holiday) won a Churchill Downs Maiden Special Weight.

Making his second start after finishing a close fourth on debut, Prove Right was happy to stalk the leader early on in the 5 ½ furlong dirt race until they got to the turn. It was at that point that the colt made his move and after a brief fight with the leader, he was clear. Down the stretch, Prove Right built his margin to win by 3 ¼ lengths with all but the second and third place finishers over eight lengths behind him.

Bred by Three Chimneys Farm, Prove Right is trained and co-owned by James Chapman with S Tsujimoto.

He is out of a three-quarter sister to three-time Grade I winner Goldencents with the pair out of a daughter of multiple stakes winner Body Works.

A freshman sire on fire, Justify’s first crop already includes two stakes performers from his eight runners.
