Katie Got Lucky Impressive Winner for Lookin At Lucky
Lookin At Lucky has another eye-catching juvenile on his hands after Katie Got Lucky (2f Lookin At Lucky x Katerbug, by Pulpit) broke her maiden in her second start by 11 ¼ lengths at Delaware Park.
Racing for breeder Hall Stables, the Kelly Rubley-trained filly broke on top in the one-mile dirt race and never let another horse in front of her. Holding a length and a half on the field for the first three-quarters, by the time she got to the stretch she was extending and had seven lengths on the field at the furlong pole
Kept in-hand by jockey Daniel Centeno, she easily built her lead to 11 ¼ lengths in the end for a win and a placing in two starts.
Katie Got Lucky is the sixth winner out of the stakes winning Katerbug, who is one of three stakes winners out of the stakes-placed Miss Kate. One of Katerbug’s winning siblings is also the dam of Grade II winner and multiple Grade I-placed Spielberg.
This family also includes Grade I winners Clear Mandate, Strong Mandate and Romantic Vision under Katie Got Lucky’s third dam.
