Lady Lands Listed Win For Soldier of Fortune

Lady Ardilaun (4m Soldier of Fortune - Lady Scarlet, by King’s Theatre) led home a 1-2 for the Francois Nicolle stable in Wednesday’s Listed Prix de Marsan hurdle at Auteuil.

Previously placed at Listed and Grade 3 level over course and distance, she faced five rivals for her latest start in the €75,000 contest over two miles and two furlongs. Ridden prominently at first by Gaetan Masure, the mare was shuffled back with a circuit to go and was one of five travelling with every chance on the turn for home. Making good headway approaching the last, the bay led 100 metres from the line and ran on well to score by a length and a half.

Bred and owned by Madame Henri Devin, Lady Ardilaun is out of a half-sister to dual Grade 1 winner Politologue.
