Trickalight (Leading Light) Wins The Five Year Old Mares Maiden At Fairyhouse

Leading Light Mare Goes One Better In Fairyhouse Maiden

Trickalight (5m Leading Light - Horner Mill, by Vinnie Roe) built on a close second last time out to win the five-year-old mares’ maiden at Saturday’s point-to-point meeting at Fairyhouse.

Third on debut at Monksgrange last September, the daughter of Leading Light chased home dual winner Save Us Avis (Mahler) in a mares’ maiden hunters’ chase at Cork earlier this month. Luke Murphy took the ride once again at the weekend and led from the penultimate fence, running on well to win by four lengths.

Trickalight is trained by John Murphy, who is also the winning owner/breeder with Mary Murphy. Out of a half-sister to Grade 1 chaser Horner Woods, the bay hails from the first crop of Grange Stud sire Leading Light.

His promising first crop winners include nine length bumper winner Three Stripe Life, who was last seen finishing fourth in the Grade 1 Champion Bumper at Cheltenham.
