Lucky Move Newest Stakes Winner For Lookin At Lucky

Lucky Move (6m Lookin At Lucky x Quiet Mover, by Quiet American) had two stakes placings in her last four starts and on Wednesday broke through for her first career stakes success in the Obeah Stakes at Delaware Park.

Racing over 1 1/16 miles on the dirt, the mare was the last to load and broke well before settling in the back of the field a few paths off the rail. Down the backstretch, Lucky Move decided it was time to move and rolled up the outside of the field to take over the lead around the bend.

Lucky Move had to battle briefly with the stakes winning Vault in the stretch but always had the upper hand and put her away in the final furlong. The mare only did what was needed to get the win, never fully extending herself to win by 1 1/4 lengths under Roberto Rosado.

Trained by Juan Carlos Guerrero for longtime Lookin At Lucky supporter Ten Strike Racing, Lucky Move was bred by Maltese Cross Stables and Stonegate Stables. One of two winners from three to race out of her dam, she comes from the family of Grade I Spinster winner Hail a Cab and Peru Champion Islam.

Lookin At Lucky is having another exciting year with four stakes winners and 12 stakes horses led by Grade II Louisiana Derby winner Wells Bayou and Grade II Fountain of Youth third As Seen On Tv.
