Magna Grecia Filly Not For Stopping On Debut
Take A Pull (3f Magna Grecia – Belle Rose, by Golden Sword) shaped like a nice type when making a winning debut at Chelmsford on Sunday.
Archie Watson’s newcomer took on some more experienced rivals in the fillies’ novice stakes over seven furlongs, with the market headed by a previous winner. The daughter of Magna Grecia raced prominently throughout under Laura Coughlan and was ridden clear approaching the final furlong. She kept on to comfortably win by a length and three quarters.
“Take A Pull didn't want to pull up after the line!” the winning rider declared. “She's a nice filly. Archie [Watson] and his team are fantastic at getting them ready. She knew her job today and went through the race like she's a nice sort.”
Take A Pull is owned by El Jefe and becomes the first winner bred by the Pocock family out of Belle Rose. She hails from the first crop of Magna Grecia, who sired a double the previous day.
