Maiden Winner Continues Fine Run For Zoffany

Wild Hero (3g Zoffany - Thought Is Free, by Cadeaux Genereux) stayed on strongly to justify favouritism in Tuesday’s seven furlong maiden at Leicester.

The Andrew Balding-trained bay finished a close third over the same trip at Newmarket last month and was given a similar ride by William Carver. Chasing the leaders, he was asked to quicken from two furlongs out and stayed on well to lead close home. The winning margin was a neck, with the front pair finishing over four lengths clear of the third.

Owned and bred by Mrs Fitri Hay, Wild Hero is a half-brother to Group performer Merry Me. He continues a fine run for Castle Hyde Stud sire Zoffany, who sired a pair of Stakes winners over the weekend.
