Memphis Cash Queen Blows Them Away at Fair Grounds

Memphis Cash Queen (3f Classic Empire x Cash Is Queen, by Unbridled’s Song) impressed at the Fair Grounds on Thursday when the Saturday Racing Stable-owned filly controlled the race from start to finish.

Memphis Cash Queen bolted out of the gate in the one mile dirt race and quickly kept a length in hand on the field. The Lon Wiggins trainee was well in hand coming into the stretch and broke any hopes the others had of catching her as they raced down the stretch.

She was two lengths ahead with a furlong left to run and by the time she reached the wire, she had 3 ¾ lengths on the runner-up with the third place finisher 10 lengths behind that runner.

Memphis Cash Queen has now finished in the top two in two of her three starts and was bred by Gil Masters in Kentucky.

The 3-year-old dark bay is one of four winners from four to race out of a half-sister to Uncle Mo’s Grade III winner Name Changer. The pair are out of the multiple stakes winner and Grade I fourth Cash’s Girl and hail from the family of champion Afleet Alex and Scat Daddy’s Grade III winner Seabhac.

Classic Empire is the sire of 24 worldwide winners, with the group led by five stakes performers and two stakes winners.
