Mizzou is new star stayer for Galileo
Trainer Luca Cumani has always held Mizzou (4c Galileo-Moments Of Joy, by Darshaan) in high regard and the Galileo colt looks a candidate for top staying honours in 2015 after scoring impressively on his comeback at Ascot on Wednesday.
William Buick steered the four-year-old to a two-length success in the G3 Sagaro Stakes and connections are now eyeing a return to Ascot in June for the G1 Gold Cup.
"He's a lovely horse and Luca has always had a lot of faith in him. He's been telling everyone over the winter that this is his Ascot Gold Cup horse,” commented trainer’s wife Sara Cumani.
"William said he would not want the ground any livelier. They went a decent pace and that suited him. He’s a really kind, genuine, honest horse. He will go to Sandown now for the G2 Henry II Stakes and then to the Gold Cup."
