More To Come From Son Of Footstepsinthesand
Navarra Pace (3g Footstepsinthesand - Ceoil An Aith, by Accordion) overcame inexperience and a wide draw to land Wednesday’s seven furlong maiden at Dundalk.
Ridden by Joey Sheridan on his second start, the Edward Lynam-trained bay raced wide in midfield for much of the way and was pushed along to make headway from two furlongs out. John Keaney’s homebred showed signs of greenness under pressure, before running on well to lead close home and beat the favourite Oh Cleo (Gleneagles) by a neck.
“I'm delighted to win for John and Mary Keaney,” the winning trainer said after the race. “The horse did it well. He's a home-bred and it's a good old family he's from too.”
