More To Come From Son Of Mastercraftsman

Celtic Art (2c Mastercraftsman - Irish Song, by Singspiel) will be “a lovely horse next year,” according to jockey PJ McDonald, who guided the colt to his maiden success at Goodwood on Tuesday.

Trained by Paul Cole for Mrs Fitri Hay, the chesnut was sent off favourite for the Peter Willett Future Stayer’s Maiden Stakes, having previously finished second in valuable maidens at the York Ebor meeting and Glorious Goodwood festival. He made all of the running in the mile contest, McDonald asking him to quicken from two furlongs out and stayed on well to win by three parts of a length.

The son of Mastercraftsman was bred by Peter Anastasiou out of Irish Song, a winning half-sister to three Stakes performers, from the family of Entrepeneur, Exclusive, Lahaleeb and Integral.
