No Nay Never Filly Wins Maiden In Good Style
Orange Sky (2f No Nay Never – Beauly, by Sea The Stars) built on a promising debut to justify even-money favouritism in the fillies’ maiden at Newcastle on Thursday evening.
The George Boughey-trained filly finished second on debut at Newbury and was reunited with Billy Loughnane as she bid to go one better. Chasing the leader for much of the way, she improved to lead after the two furlong pole and quickened well when ridden inside the final furlong. She ran on well to lead by a length and a half on the line.
Owned by Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum, Orange Sky was bought by her trainer as a yearling for 330,000gns. The daughter of No Nay Never has a half-brother by Camelot selling at Tattersalls Book 1 next month.
