Nothingsubtle 10th Winner for Echo Town
The on-fire Echo Town registered another winner on Saturday when Nothingsubtle (2c Echo Town x Subtle Livie, by Mr. Livingston) won a Gulfstream Park Maiden Special Weight.
Coming back two weeks after finishing third in his debut, Nothingsubtle rated about six lengths behind the leader in the six-furlong dirt race early on. Happy to stay where he was during the first half, it wasn’t until the turn that he crept closer to loom large behind the leader.
Racing down the center of the stretch in the track nearly nine paths wide, Nothingsubtle zeroed in on the lead from there. It didn’t take long for him to steadily make his way to the front before securing it with a sixteenth left to run and pulling away to win by 1 ½ lengths.
A homebred for Teresa and David Palmer, Nothingsubtle is trained by Nicholas Palmer.
He is the eighth winner from nine runners out of Subtle Livie. Unraced herself, the mare is a half-sister to Grade III winner Subtle Aly, who produced two of her own stakes performers. The pair are granddaughters of three-time Grade I winner Very Subtle, who produced a stakes winner of her own.
Echo Town is now the sire of 10 winners and has sired two stakes winners in the past week.
