Off We Go (Air Force Blue) Breaks Maiden At Keeneland

Off We Go Provides Air Force Blue With Keeneland Winner

Air Force Blue opened the Keeneland meet in a big way on Friday when Off We Go (2f Air Force Blue x Conquest Strate Up, by Not Bourbon) won a Maiden Special Weight.

Proving to love the dirt when racing over six furlongs, the filly broke from the widest gate and was quickly into a five-way battle for the lead. That duel turned into a battle between three turning into the stretch but Off We Go quickly ended it when taking a length lead.

Given an easy ride with just a few taps, Off We Go finished strongly with more left in the tank to win by 1¼ lengths over Munnings’ Sun Path, a full sister to Grade II winner Bonny South.

Trained by Tom Amoss for B.C.W.T. Ltd, Off We Go was sold at this year’s OBS Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds to Lauren Carlisle for $150,000.

Bred by Pippa’s Hurricane, Off We Go is the first foal out of stakes winning Conquest Strate Up, whose half-sister produced multiple stakes winner Cactus Joe. Off We Go’s granddam Deputy is a half-sister to dual Horse of the Year and successful sire Curlin with Group II winner Red Spada also in the family.

Conquest Strate Up has a yearling filly by Practical Joke and a weanling colt by Mendelssohn.

Off We Go is the seventh winner for European Champion 2-Year-Old Air Force Blue, ranking him among the best of his class by both winners and earnings.
