Order Of Australia (Australia) Wins The Group 2 Minstrel Stakes At The Curragh

Order Of Australia Makes All To Take Minstrel Stakes

Breeders’ Cup Mile victor Order Of Australia (4c Australia - Senta’s Dream, by Danehill) returned to winning ways in Sunday’s Group 2 Minstrel Stakes at the Curragh.

Sent off favourite under Ryan Moore, the bay led for much of the seven furlong contest and began to pick up the pace approaching the two furlong marker. Ridden approaching the final furlong, he kept on well to win by a length and a quarter.

“He has plenty of speed and gets a mile well,” O’Brien commented after the race. He named the Sussex Stakes as his next target, adding, “He's a horse to look forward to and can go to America later in the year.”

Bred by Whisperview Trading, Order Of Australia is owned by Derrick Smith, Mrs John Magnier, Michael Tabor and Mrs AM O’Brien. He continued a fruitful time for his dam, with his sister and stablemate Santa Barbara (Camelot) having won the Grade 1 Belmont Oaks last week.

Yarrawonga (3c Australia - Gems, by Haafhd) completed a double for his sire and a treble for Ballydoyle and Ryan Moore when making a successful step up in trip in the mile and a half maiden.

Tracking the leader for much of the way, he was ridden to lead after the three furlong marker and kept on well to win by a length and a quarter from Zaynudin (Fastnet Rock), as Seattle Sound (Australia) took third.

Bred by Siobhan O’Rahilly, Yarrawonga is a half-brother to Group 2 winner Mystery Power (No Nay Never).
