Tribal Craft (Mastercraftsman) Wins The Group 3 William Hill Bronte Cup Fillies Stakes At York

Progressive Mastercraftsman Mare Celebrates Group 3 Win

Tribal Craft (5m Mastercraftsman - Snoqualmie Star, by Galileo) built on a promising seasonal return to win the Group 3 William Hill Bronte Cup Fillies’ Stakes at York on Saturday afternoon.

Jeff Smith’s homebred finished second in a Listed contest earlier this month and was given a similar ride at the weekend by David Probert. Racing towards the back of the field, Andrew Balding’s charge made headway from three furlongs out and led approaching the final furlong. Running on well, she scored by two lengths and three quarters.

Speaking after the race, the winning rider said, “Tribal Craft is a very tough mare and she's really turned over a new leaf this year. She's a relentless galloper. She needed to improve today and she's just done that.”

The daughter of Mastercraftsman becomes the first Stakes winner out of Snoqualmie Star (Galileo), herself a three-parts sister to two Listed winners by Montjeu.
