Progressive Son Of Footstepsinthesand Gains Maiden Win

The progressive Sandyman (3g Footstepsinthesand - Quiz Mistress, by Doyen) ran out an authoritative winner of Saturday’s ten furlong maiden at Lingfield.

Fifth on his seasonal return and second career start last month, he was given a positive ride by Liam Keniry; tracking the leaders until the four furlong marker, where he took the lead. Five lengths clear a furlong later, he was ridden out and kept on well to score by over two lengths.

Trained by Paul Cole for the Fairy Story Partnership, Sandyman was bred by Deepwood Farm Stud out of three-time Listed winner Quiz Mistress. She is a half-sister to Derby Trial winner Saddler’s Quest and Listed scorer Seren Hill.
