Royal Creek (Getaway) Wins The Fillies Bumper At Ballinrobe

Promising Getaway Mare Denies Hot Favourite On Debut

Royal Creek (4f Getaway - Canto Creek, by Beat All) shaped like a useful prospect when denying the short-priced favourite in Monday’s fillies’ bumper at Ballinrobe.

The daughter of Getaway is owned and trained by Edmond Kent, who also bred the newcomer at his Ballyhampshire Stud, and was partnered by Adam Ryan on her career debut. Ridden prominently throughout, she was pushed along to lead approaching the final furlong and was driven clear soon after. Digging deep on the run-in, she prevailed by a nose as the Willie Mullins-trained favourite finished strongly.

“I love this filly,” the winning breeder/owner/trainer declared after the race. “She's done everything really easy the whole way. She had a good blow there and she'll come on a load from that run.”

The daughter of Getaway is a full-sister to bumper winner Benign Dictator (Getaway).
