Promising Gleneagles Colt Wins In Good Style
Eagle Angel (2c Gleneagles - Angel Terrace, by Ghostzapper) produced a smart performance to win his second start at Wolverhampton on Friday.
Trained by John and Thady Gosden for owner/breeder George Strawbridge, the son of Gleneagles caught the eye on debut last month. Stepping up to nine and a half furlongs on Friday, he was sent off favourite under Benoit De La Sayette and raced towards the back of the field for much of the way. He made good headway after switching right at the two furlong pole and was ridden to lead close home, going on to score by three parts of a length.
Eagle Angel may appreciate another step up in trip, as his dam is a half-sister to top-class stayer Order Of St George (Galileo).
