Promising Magna Grecia Colt Makes All To Maiden Victory
Chuti Manika (2c Magna Grecia – Assault On Rome, by Holy Roman Emperor) produced a smart performance to win his second start in Wednesday’s seven furlong maiden at Catterick.
Charlie Johnston’s charge was headed close home on debut earlier this month and was sent off joint-favourite to go one better under Joe Fanning. The bay made all of the running and quickened as more experienced rivals attempted to challenge two furlongs from home. He kept on well to beat his fellow market leader by half a length, with another length back to the third.
The second crop son of Magna Grecia is owned and bred by Mrs Christine Budden and partners.
