Rayapour Becomes The Latest Winner By Mastercraftsman

Promising Mastercraftsman Colt Gains Maiden Victory

Rayapour (3c Mastercraftsman - Radiyya, by Sinndar) built on some promising performances to gain his maiden win in Tuesday’s Prix Goodly at Maisons-Laffitte.

The Aga Khan homebred finished second on his three-year-old return in early April and remained racing over a mile and a half on his latest start. Racing wide throughout, the bay was settled in midfield by Christophe Soumillon and improved to track the leaders from halfway as the field bunched together. Quickening in the straight, he rallied past the favourite Youmna inside the final furlong and ran on to score by two lengths.

Trained by Alain de Royer Dupre, Rayapour holds entries in the Prix de Jockey Club and Grand Prix de Paris. The son of Mastercraftsman is a half-brother to Listed performer Rashkani, out of a half-sister to multiple Group winner Rajsaman and dual Stakes winner Rosawa, herself the dam of Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussac heroine Rosanara.
