Promising Vadamos Gelding Lands Bumper On Stable Debut
Baron Noir (4g Vadamos – Scooping, by Dylan Thomas) justified strong market support to make a winning start for Alan King in Monday’s bumper at Plumpton.
The son of Vadamos shaped with promise on debut for Danny Murphy, when finishing third in a Leopardstown bumper in March. The bay was sent off joint-favourite on his stable debut and seasonal return, and raced in touch with the leaders for much of the way. Pushed along before the two furlong pole, he led a furlong later and kept on gamely to beat four-year-old maiden winner Kingston Queen by a neck. Another four-year-old maiden winner finished a further five lengths back in third.
Owned by the Noel Fehily Racing Syndicate, Baron Noir was bred by Shane Lawlor and Mary Butterfield. The Vadamos gelding provides an important update for his full-brother selling at the upcoming Goffs December NH Sale.
