Koshari (Walk In The Park) winning a novices hurdle at Punchestown

More Punchestown Festival success for Walk In The Park

French import Koshari (4g Walk In The Park-Honor May, by Balleroy) triumphed on his first start for Willie Mullins at the Punchestown Festival on Friday when winning a classy novice hurdle. Like superstar stablemate Douvan, a G1 winner at Punchestown on Thursday, Koshari is a son of Walk In The Park. He was having his first run since winning a conditions hurdles contest at Cagnes-sur-Mer on December 26 and kept on well to beat stablemate Bello Conti by a length and a half. "He was very green. I just wanted to get a run into him to see what we had before we put him out. He doesn't look too bad," said Mullins. "He looks a nice model and of course he's by Walk In The Park. He's not four until the end of May. He'll probably stay hurdling next season rather than go chasing.” Winning rider Paul Townend added: “He was just a bit green today and I think he can improve. He had some solid form coming into the race although we didn’t know much about him from what he does at home. We learnt a good bit today and he has done it nicely.”
