Rock Of Gibraltar Filly Gains Second Stakes Success

Rocky Sky (4f Rock Of Gibraltar - Road Tosky, by Elusive City) led home a 1-2 for Chad Brown in Sunday's Grade 3 Waya Stakes at Belmont.

Manuel Franco took the ride in the $200,000 contest over a mile and three furlongs, waiting until early in the straight to deliver a challenger. Peter Brandt’s European recruit kept on well to deny the favourite by a length and a quarter, with the pair drawing seven lengths clear of the field.

Sunday marked a second Stakes success for Rocky Sky, who was purchased privately following her impressive Listed win for Ross O’Sullivan in her native Ireland. Bred by Eadling Farm, the daughter of Rock Of Gibraltar placed at Grade 2 level last season for her current connections.
