Rubick Installed Favourite for First Season Sire Betting

August 1 brings a new season of racing in Australia and a brand new crop of first season sires with Crownbet publishing a market this week on which young stallion will sire the most winners in 2018/2019 and our very own Rubick has been listed as favourite.

Specially selected to take over from his now retired champion sire Encosta de Lago, Rubick heads the market at $3 ahead of Deep Field, Brazen Beau and Dissident.

A brilliant speed horse from the family of champion sire Redoute’s Choice, Rubick is also closely related to Group I producing sire Manhattan Rain, the sire of 2017 Golden Slipper winner She Will Reign.

A fast and precocious colt that won on debut in January and won the Group III MRC Blue Diamond Prelude at his second start, Rubick had speed to burn as demonstrated in his explosive victory as a spring three year-old in the Group II MRC Schillaci Stakes over 1000 metres beating Group I winners Platelet and Overreach.

Given his royal pedigree, outstanding type and scintillating speed, Rubick was super popular with breeders in his debut season and has a foal crop of 158 to run for him in 2018/2019.

Rubick yearlings sold for up to $470,000 at the sales this year including 22 that averaged $160,227 at the Magic Millions.

They have entered the stables of leading trainers right around the country and expectation is high that Rubick is ready to write the next chapter of sire success for one of the greatest stallion producing families we have ever seen in Australia.

Rubick stands this spring at a fee of $17,600.
