Second Stakes Success For Son Of Zoffany

Dolphin Vista (6g Zoffany - Fiordiligi, by Mozart) gained the second black-type win of his career when taking the Listed Prix Defi du Galop at Clairefontaine on Friday.

The Ralph Beckett-trained bay won a Listed race at Ayr at the end of last season and on his trip to France, returned to the nine furlong trip of his Cambridgeshire Handicap victory in 2017. Racing on his preferred softer conditions, he tracked the leaders under Christophe Soumillon and was asked to challenge turning for home. Asserting two furlongs out, he stayed on well to beat the favourite Stunning Spirit by three parts of a length.

The now seven-time winner is owned by Y Nasib and was bred by Jim McDonald. He is a half-brother to five-time winner Celtic Filly (Footstepsinthesand), while his unraced dam is a half-sister to Japanese Listed winner Bayreuth.
